Every Sunday, the narrow streets of Xaronval come alive thanks to the costumed volunteers of the Les Amis du Valamont association.
The entire village becomes a living theater where scenes from everyday life from times gone by are reenacted: the school for the school leaving certificate, the blacksmith at work, the traveling knife grinder, and the washerwomen at their laundry.
Visitors can stroll among the reconstructed houses, discover old trades, attend musical entertainment, and savor traditional cuisine in the village open-air cafés.
Every Sunday offers a different theme, ranging from 1900 weddings to traditional trades, mechanical music, and period uniforms.
The highlight of the season, the Great Vosges Antiques Fair is held the last weekend of September.
This is the perfect opportunity for antique lovers to browse the village barns, transformed for the occasion into veritable treasure troves. Between antiques, craft demonstrations, and a festive atmosphere, magic happens around every corner.
It's impossible to visit Xaronval without tasting the local specialties: fresh black pudding, eggs with bacon, flammekueche, Lorraine pâté, old-fashioned waffles... All prepared on site, sometimes even in a traditional wood-fired oven.
