The Vosges Textile Museum
Discover a must-see museum in the region
Housed in a former weaving mill dating from 1855, the Musée du Textile des Vosges invites you to step back in time and learn more about the history of textiles in the Vosges. A fascinating visit for all the family!
What the museum has in store for you
The museum is divided into several areas, each with its own theme:
- Basement and outside: the driving forces, with a 30-horsepower steam engine as the centrepiece
- Ground floor: the industrial cotton spinning mill, with old machines on display
- First floor: artisanal and industrial weaving to discover the evolution of fabric looms from the 18th century to the present day
- Second floor: temporary exhibitions and a weaving workshop where visitors can try their hand at this technique.
You can visit the museum on your own or on a guided tour (~ 1 hour).
After your visit, don't forget to visit the museum shop, where you'll find local crafts and products, as well as items produced by the museum.
